Iskra - Bureval
Black Metal
Iskra is known for being one of the few relatively well known anarchist black metal bands. Iskra hails from Seattle, Washington. While their previous albums were often Crust with some Black Metal influences, Bureval comes outwith a full on Black Metal assault, not resting for the whole album. Iskra is fronted by a female named Danielle who does an awesome job of keeping up with the boys in creating an aggressive atmosphere. This album is a step up from their previous work I have heard, headed to a more focused and concentrated on metal album.

Rome - Flowers From Exile
Dark folk, Martial Industrial?
This album is absolutely phenomenal. One of the best albums of 2009. Although I would prefer to not post an album so near its release, I also feel this is so great that people should definitely hear this.
"Flowers From Exile is supposedly based upon the events of the Spanish Civil War, a conflict in which Retuer's family partook. The various samples used throughout the album, as well as its exotic arrangements, intimate an atmosphere of conflict and resignation, but specifics never quite materialize the way they would in folk music or songs of political protest. More plainly, Flowers tackles the familiar topics of isolation, desperation, and displacement whether it be political, familial, or religious in scope." - Lucas Schleicher
This album is highly recommended.

Bonnot Gang, The: The Story of the French Illegalists
Literature
"This is the story of the infamous Bonnot Gang: the most notorious French anarchists ever, and the inventors of the motorized get-away. It is the story of how the anarchist taste for illegality developed into illegalism - the theory that theft is liberating. And how a number of young anarchists met in Paris in the years before the first world war, determined to live their lives to the full, regardless of the inevitable - and tragic - consequences. A gripping historical thriller, Parry narrates their lives and background - a Paris of riots, strikes and savage repression. A stronghold of foreign exiles and home-grown revolutionaries. Victor Serge and 'l'anarchie' the individualist weekly. Their robberies, daring and violent, would give them a lasting notoriety in France. Their deaths, as spectacular as their lives, would make them a legend amongst revolutionaries the world over. Not only that, but they were all vegetarians, who drank only water!"

Skyforger - Zobena Dziesma
Pagan Folk
While this band is normally known for their Pagan folk/metal works, this album is a purely folk album, which I actually think is their best.

Char - Palaver (Demo 2009)
A new Atmospheric Black Metal band from Vancouver, Washington named Char. The vocals are very Silencer influenced, which is not my favorite style, but overall the music is quite well written. Great first demo by these guys and I am excited to listen to how they progress in the future.
